BLOG NINETY ONE
Good Day
Welcome to another action-packed blog!
Let’s set the tone with a thought:
“Nobody watches you harder than the people who don’t like you, so give them a show they’ll never forget…”

Recent Highlights
It’s been a busy time at DCR since our last blog, when Fireblade took the Shergar Cup. Our team has kept the winning momentum rolling—most notably with Asgards Captain, who stormed home to land another £100k Heritage Handicap at York Ebor Week.
That makes it our second Heritage Handicap winner at York Ebor Week!
• Asgards Captain (owned by Quest Thoroughbreds and purchased by Jordan Hopkins & Matt Coleman) has now won eight races since joining us, including the Great Metropolitan at Epsom. His York win was a real show of toughness under a superb ride from John Egan.
• At the same meeting, Kamakameleon ran a huge race, finishing 7th in the Harry Half Millions and earning £16k. Drawn wide and left alone down the outside, we feel he could well have won with a bit more luck.
• Lady Mariko also kept her consistency, finishing 5th in a deep Heritage Handicap and banking another £5k after winning her previous two starts for us.
• Gorgeous Mr George brought home his third win of the year, cementing his reputation as something of a Yarmouth specialist.
• A week earlier, Huggable bolted up at Epsom to give Lady Tavistock her first Epsom winner in 58 years of ownership—a special moment for all of us.
Epsom has been a lucky track for us, and naturally, we dream of having the chance to buy or train a Derby or Oaks horse in the years to come.

New Syndicates, New Partnerships
We’re delighted to welcome some exciting new syndicates to the yard alongside our trusted partners:
• Quest Thoroughbreds (outstanding record with us)
• Gee Gees Racing (long-standing support)
• Racing To Profit, who kept Mart in training with us and bought two yearlings at the Somerville Sale
• Nick Bradley Racing, one of the UK’s most successful syndicates, also joining with a yearling purchase
• On Top Racing, who have already celebrated a winner with us and own a promising 2yo set to run later this year
These partnerships offer variety, opportunity, and a chance for more owners to join in the fun. We love hosting syndicates and sharing the journey with so many passionate people.

Upcoming Open Day
Our Henry Cecil Weekend Open Day is just around the corner—21 September.
We’ve proudly opened our doors every year since we started, and this year will be no different. Our team is working hard to make it a memorable experience. After visiting us, there’s plenty of entertainment in town at The Severals to keep the day going. We look forward to seeing you there!
⸻
Sales Season
Sales season is in full swing! We’ve already purchased 12 yearlings with plans to at least double that number.
Our team—driven by Pedigree To Win—never stops working to raise the bar and find value. With the big sales approaching, now’s the time to get in touch and join us on the journey.

Busy Weekend Ahead
We’ve got an exciting slate of runners lined up:
• Saturday
• Prague in the Gr.3 Superior Mile (2nd last year, primed for his ground, ridden by Kieren Shoemark).
• Tailgunner Joe in the Listed Ascendant Stakes (a classy Kicks Go colt, promising on debut at Royal Ascot, and looking sharp for Kyle Strydom).
• Sunday
• Fireblade at York, aiming to bounce back to his Ascot-winning form.
• Next Week
• Runners lined up at Windsor (3 entries Monday), Doncaster, Leicester, and Epsom.
Lots to look forward to!

Looking Ahead
• The long-awaited rain has arrived after a stunning summer, and HQ is looking greener. We’re now stepping up the gallops with later-developing types who’ll be out soon.
• Dubai plans are firmly in motion. We’re sourcing horses for our winter team and would love to have you on board if you fancy warmer climes and top-class racing.
• Our jumper Mahons Glory (form 1–1–2 last season) is nearly ready to return. We’re excited to see him back and always open to welcoming more jumpers into the yard.

Closing Thought
To wrap up, I’ll leave you with this:
“Strong people don’t put others down—they lift them up.”
