BLOG EIGHTY 8
Good Morning!
As we head into one of British racing’s most iconic summer festivals—Glorious Goodwood—it feels like the perfect moment to reflect, celebrate, and share a few updates from the yard.
Let’s begin, as always, with a bit of wisdom:
“May the only pain in your life be champagne!”
⸻
Stable in Top Form
Our horses have been in superb form recently—everything winning bar the stable cat, Simba (who’s a bit too grumpy for an entry, but if we did run him, I’d fancy his chances!). While we’ve enjoyed a string of winners lately, I’m especially proud of how consistently the yard has performed all year. In fact, we’ve now maintained a strong run of form for the past 36 months, a tough feat in a sport where fortunes can change quickly.
Our success has been down to a combination of smart race planning, happy horses, and the hard work of a committed team. It’s all about balance—between winter and summer campaigns—and getting the very best out of every horse in the yard. The results speak for themselves.

July – A Personal Best
We recorded our 10th winner of July today as Gorgeous Mr George got his head in front under Kyle Strydom, who himself is enjoying a rich vein of form. This marks our best month to date, including a double and a treble from as few as two or three runners on those days.
It’s been a month to remember, and I can’t thank our supportive owners, incredible staff, and talented horses enough. We’re building something special—and it’s showing.

A Promising Two-Year-Old Team
This season has seen the emergence of some very exciting two-year-olds. Both our Royal Ascot runners—Come On Eibhlin and Tailgunner Joe—won smartly on their next outings and have bright futures ahead. Kamakameleon, fifth in the Windsor Castle, is heading to York’s Goffs Harry’s Half Million.
We also sold Gaga Mate for a fantastic profit after his impressive win and gallant third in the Super Sprint last weekend. Overall, we’ve run four two-year-olds this year—all four have won—and there are still more waiting in the wings.
This strength among the juveniles is especially important as we approach the sales season. We want to welcome new and returning owners into the fold, giving them a chance to be part of what we’re building—a stable that punches well above its weight. In just our third full season, we are two winners away from surpassing last year’s total—and it’s still only July!

Looking Ahead: Glorious Goodwood & Beyond
We go into Glorious Goodwood with two unraced two-year-olds. They’re both smart, but the experience will be valuable—much like our Royal Ascot types who have gone on to bigger things.
My personal highlight of the week? Field Of Gold—I think he’s the NAP of the week.
Goodwood is a brilliant festival and a great place for both racing and networking. As our string of older horses grows, we’ll be aiming to have a stronger presence at Goodwood in the coming years. This week is a little quieter on the runners front, but we’ll be back in full force across the UK this weekend.

York Ebor Festival & Sales Season
Next up is the Ebor Festival at York, where we’ll be sending a strong team to the Knavesmire. It’s the last big summer festival before the autumn season kicks off, and a key time for showcasing future stars.
Behind the scenes, Luiz Cunha (@pedigree_to_win) is already deep into catalogues ahead of the upcoming sales season—his eye for value is unmatched. The shortlists are being carefully whittled down, and we’ll be attending:
• Goffs Doncaster – later this month
• Tattersalls Somerville Sale – early September
• Keeneland September Sale – USA
• Goffs Orby (Ireland) – late September
• Tattersalls (Newmarket) – through the autumn
This is the “transfer window” of racing—the time when the next season’s winners are found. We’re already taking early orders, so if you’re looking to join us, now’s the time. Let’s build for an even bigger 2026—together.
⸻
Henry Cecil Open Day
One of the highlights of our calendar—The Henry Cecil Open Day—returns next month, and we’re thrilled to be opening our doors again. We’re planning something even bigger and better than before.
It’s a special day that gives us the chance to connect with the community, showcase our horses and team, and share our journey. Everyone is welcome—and we’d love to see you there.
⸻
Teamwork Makes the Dream Work
We’ve built an incredible team in a short space of time. From our riders and grooms to race planners, office staff, travelling team, farriers, vets, sales specialists, and more—each person plays a vital role in our success.
It’s this collective effort that creates the positive, ambitious atmosphere you feel when you visit the yard. Happy horses, hardworking people, and a shared belief in what we’re building—that’s what makes this place so special. Thank you to everyone who’s been part of the journey so far.
⸻
Dubai: Winter Plans Taking Shape
Our Dubai team is also shaping up nicely. We’re excited to head back for another winter season—offering great opportunities for our owners and horses in the sun.
We’ll be looking to add a few more horses for the Dubai campaign, so keep an eye out for details on our six-month Dubai syndicate. As always, our yard will be open to visiting owners who want to experience racing in the Middle East firsthand.

A Quick Word on Football…
A huge congratulations to the Lionesses, who won the Euros again on Sunday night—what a performance, especially under pressure in the penalty shootout!
And on the subject of football, I’m genuinely excited about Arsenal this season. It feels like we’re on the cusp of something really special. I’ll be at a few games at the Emirates—one of the winter joys that helps pass those colder months!

Final Thought
“Life doesn’t care how tired you are—it just keeps coming. You have to keep going, because there’s no other choice. Every scar is a lesson, every bruise a reminder that you survived. Courage is getting up when no one is watching. You were built for more than giving up. The world won’t hand you peace—you have to earn it. So stand tall, take the hit, keep swinging. You’re not done yet.”
Until next time—stay safe, keep smiling, and here’s to many more winners!
